Exterior

Outside you can enjoy the surroundings on several deck levels.

On the aft deck you will find yourself less than a metre from the water level. This brings you close to the ocean and gives you great photographic possibilities for those low level perspective photographs.

On survey deck you can walk around the superstructure of the vessel which means there is always a leeward side. Passing over the flume tank, which is a passive stabilization system to reduce rolling, you will reach the foredeck where you have a great panoramic view of what’s waiting ahead. The sound from the engine in this spot is next to unnoticeable, it’s just you the wind and the sound of water foaming in the bow.

Follow the stairs from aft of the survey lounge and you are on the 4th deck level with a great overview of the surroundings. This is a perfect location for spotting whales in the distance or a polar bear on an ice flow far away.

For those who like an extra thrill, there are two large platforms in the main mast. From up there you can almost touch the sky and you will have an incredible 360o overview of the surroundings. The access is via a ladder from the 4th deck and you will need a harness to climb, a small mission but well worth the price once you are up there.

Interior

The cabins

There are five double and one triple cabin onboard, all with ensuite facilities. Those cabins were recently used to house surveyors for hydrographic mission on the survey market. For expedition purposes they have now been upgraded and given “the Arctic touch”.

Common areas

Communal areas are available on two deck levels. The main deck offers a dayroom with games and a media station and the mess room with a bar and an aft exit through the mud room to the aft deck. Here you will also find the well-equipped galley where our cook prepares your delicious meals.

The survey lounge is located on 3rd deck. This is the old survey room, now transformed into a lounge area, lecture room and Artic library. The old survey equipment has been replaced with a brand-new survey station that can be used for high tech operations or to watch a movie while cruising towards your next destination. This area offers a great view of the outside with large windows facing in three directions and an exit to the outside 3rd deck. This is where lectures will be held using either a projector or the large high-resolution survey screens for presentations.

The bridge

From the survey lounge there’s an indoor access to the state-of-the-art bridge on 4 deck. The bridge is always open for visitors. Here you are welcome to learn more about the systems and
