Whales are frequent visitors to Svalbard in this area.

Days 2-3

Prins Karls Foreland & Sea Ice

In the morning our plan is to explore Prins Karls Foreland, an island of magical scenery off the west coast of Spitsbergen. We will drop anchor and explore the shore and hike to a Walrus haul out earlier. In the afternoon we will do a wilderness hike. We frequently see Svalbard reindeer here. From here, if we have favourable conditions our plan is to sail up to the edge of the sea ice which extends all the way to the North Pole. In calm conditions, we will cruise the edge of the sea ice keeping a sharp lookout for wildlife including polar bears that hunt on the ice.

Days 4-6

Exploring the North-West Coast

Every private expedition to Svalbard involves an element of unknown and exploration which is all part of the adventure. Under the guidance of our expedition leader, we will explore the coastline to the North of Spitsbergen and show you the best that the area has to offer. Over the next days, we will explore the coast and visit areas that are rarely visited. The plan is to make shore landings on a daily basis to visit different natural and historical sites including glaciers, do wilderness hikes and spend some time enjoying the raw nature of the Arctic. We can set the itinerary around your groups interests.
